The advancement of 12Gb/s SAS connectivity allows the new ARC-4038 8-Bay SAS Expander unit to transfer end-to-end 12Gb/s storage speed between the storage enclosure and the host computer when combined with the performance proven Areca ARC-1883X PCIe RAID Controller. Customers can use the new ARC-4038 expander to provide an affordable, scalable, performance driven storage solution that enables customer to expand capacity beyond the server to meet growing data requirements.
The ARC-4038 is based on the 12Gb/s SAS technology and powered by the LSI SAS3x28 12Gb SAS expander controller chip. It supports 3,6,12Gb/s SAS or 3,6 Gb/s SATA HDDs or SSDs. Uses the latest enhancements in SAS along with new LSI DataBolt bandwidth optimizer terchnology, which buffers 6Gb/s data and then transfers it out to the host at 12Gb/s speeds in order to match the bandwidth between faster hosts and slower SAS or SATA devices.
The ARC-4038 is qualified for using with ARC-1883X 12G SAS RAID Controller or ARC-1320 SAS host adapter with external ports, providing connectivity to servers for cost-effective storage expansion and scalability.
Supports multi-steam SD, DVCPRO HD, Apple ProRes 422/444, HD, UHD, and uncompressed HD video workflows with ease.
